Tapas is austerity and Vanam is forest,
in short a meditative approach to farming &
life
A tribute to the mother earth ,the Providence
.Here trees are not just trees… they are our
own ….Medicinal plants, fruit trees &wild
trees grow in gay abandon. Butterflies &
birds find themselves in good company and the
river gently flows by.
We also believe in the social life of plants;
just like us they also dream and share the joys
and sorrows of life. They are our co travelers
in this never ending journey through the myriad
mysteries of life. They have been here much
before us, let’s keep them close to our heart
and pray they will be around till the end of
time. Let’s leave a greener world back so that
our children can get some shade , breathe fresh
air and, pluck some fruits, Open up to a better
world.
Location
Kuruvamoozy-
start from kottayam towards kumaly on k k
road,reach ponkunnam after 34 kms,turn rt
towards the famous temple town erumely after 11
kms u find yourself in kuruvamoozhy, tapovanam
is just 1 km inside on the banks of Manimala
river, very easy to locate not too complicated
as it sounds.
Method
No
chemicals, no pestisides, only organic manures
like cow dung, and you get to know the fruits in
its original taste and flavour ;the birds sensed
it fast and are flying around their
favourite plants. During rains we pack up the bottom of
each plant with leaves. We are growing 600
banana trees to give us shade for the newly
planted and to provide enough organic manure. We
go to each plant every day.
